Under the Moon Philosophy
Under the Moon Philosophy is a facilitated discussion by Zoë, where we gather to explore a chosen question voted in advance by the group.
No philosophy background is required. Just curiosity and a willingness to sit with ideas that don’t have easy answers. We meet to think more deeply than daily life usually allows and practice being open rather than certain.
In a world where the media and algorithms seek to divide us, this discussion group aims to help us try to appreciate other points of view, find common ground and to succinctly articulate ourselves.
The gatherings are free and held monthly near the full moon on a Sunday at 5pm. We meet during the summer months in Ivanhoe Park in Manly, beneath the large fig tree behind the bowling green, and in the winter upstairs in the Ivanhoe pub. Dates, times and the question are announced in advance.
The aim is to leave with more questions that you came with. Everyone is welcome.
Under the Moon Philosophy was founded in October 2024 and has grown to a community of over 100 members.
Follow @underthemoonphilosophy for dates and question for the next gathering.
“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.”
